Dance to You! at Complete Care at Fair Lawn Edge with Solis and Luna Arts

In March, Dance to You! performed at Complete Care at Fair Lawn Edge in Paterson, New Jersey, in collaboration with Solis and Luna Arts, a student-led 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is “to better moods for those with health issues through different forms of art.” By combining live dance with live music, we were able to create a truly enthralling performance experience for the patients!
After much preparation and coordination, we put together an incredible performance program featuring classical ballet variations with music accompaniment. Our dancers performed solos and duets from beloved ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, and La Bayadère with the musicians of Solis and Luna Arts playing on a variety of string, woodwind, and brass instruments. For our grand finale, we performed a group piece choreographed by President of Dance to You!, Caitlin, and Vice President, Lilly, to the Act III Pas de Deux Coda music from Don Quixote.
Each organization also had an individual segment of the performance, during which our dancers showcased a series of contemporary and jazz dances.
Through the rehearsal process, the dancers and musicians learned from and inspired each other, and by coming together, we organized an incredible performance! Thank you to Solis and Luna Arts for collaborating with us, and Complete Care at Fair Lawn Edge for allowing us to bring the gifts of dance and music to your patients!
