In late August, Dance to You! was welcomed warmly to Our Home, a Korean adult daycare in Englewood, New Jersey.
Our dancers put on two incredible performances, one for their morning group, and one for their afternoon group, and performed for almost 200 individuals in total! We shared various solos, duets, trios, and group numbers in a multitude of genres, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, and musical theatre.

Since Our Home specializes in care for Korean patients, we translated our dance introductions to share information about each of our numbers in Korean. We also included the Korean translation of each genre in our Performance Program, as well as in a slideshow that was projected on the TV screens for the entire audience to see!
Caitlin surprised the seniors by dancing a Korean Traditional small-drum dance called “Sogo” wearing a “Hanbok,” the traditional clothing of Korea. For our finale, our dancers thought it would be extra-special to dance to the song “Permission to Dance,” by the popular K-pop boy band, BTS. The seniors were overjoyed, clapping to the beat, cheering, and exclaiming throughout the entire dance!

The energy, joy, and enthusiasm of the audience was contagious, and the dancers could not stop smiling throughout the performance! This was truly an unforgettable performance, and we hope to return very, very soon to perform again!
