In late March 2025, Dance to You! was delighted to return to the Jewish Home at Rockleigh for our third performance, and reconnect with so many of the residents who were waiting for us to return and dance for them again! We loved being able to share several new dances that we had been preparing, including a group jazz dance to the upbeat, disco song “Last Dance” by Donna Summer, choreographed by Caitlin.

We also enjoyed sharing a presentation and demonstration on the different training techniques of ballet: Classical, Balanchine, and Vaganova. After presenting information about the origin and key differences of each training technique, Caitlin, Emma, Kiara, and Lilly took turns demonstrating several ballet steps, with each dancer executing the steps in the style of one of the three techniques!

It was wonderful for Emma and Kiara who were performing at the Jewish Home for the first time to share their own unique solos and connect with the residents. Ms. Dorothy, who attended our performance for the first time as well, absolutely loved the Latin-inspired contemporary dance to the song "Un Amor," performed by Kiara. She had been a ballroom dancer herself and after the performance, requested to speak with Kiara! Ms. Dorothy also shared with us all that “It reminded me of my younger days when I learned to dance. Now I am 90 years old but though I don’t dance, I can still enjoy the beauty of those movements,” which brought our dancers to tears!

Thank you so much to the Jewish Home at Rockleigh for having us and giving us a truly memorable experience!
